How to Tag Your Book on Amazon.com [VIDEO]

October 6, 2011 by Cathy Stucker

Want to make it easier for customers to find your book or other product on Amazon.com? One simple way to get more visitors to your product page is to use the product tags feature on Amazon. This video shows how to easily add tags to your product. It takes just a minute to do and makes your book more visible to customers who are viewing similar products on Amazon.

To add tags to your book’s product page, start by navigating to the product page. Scroll down the page to the section titled “Tags Customers Associate with This Product.” Enter from one to five tags (keywords) that customers looking for a book like yours might enter in a search. You can also find tag ideas by looking at the pages for books similar to yours to see what tags customers have entered on those pages.

Now, when someone goes to the page of one of the books that shares a tag with yours, your book may be displayed immediately above the tag section, in a section titled, “Looking for [tag] Products?” The tags may also influence search results in Amazon, helping customers to locate your book when they search for related keywords.

This is a simple way to make your book more visible to Amazon customers. It takes only a minute or two to do, costs nothing and could help you to sell more books on Amazon.com.

Oh nice! I didn’t know about this at time but this looks great because a few weeks ago, I actually had a book published on Kindle that I had created for one of my websites; it was really excited but I haven’t seen much action from it because I think there’s a lot more books outranking it at this time. Thanks for the tip!

This seems like an easy way to get a little bit of extra traffic to the product page. I also think that adding the tags are going to help improve the on page SEO for the product pages, which should help them show in search engines a bit better.
