My most recent book is Couples in Chaos. The book is about why and how people form addictive and abusive relationships. What kind of personalities likely to form such relationships. How and what to avoid.
Tell us something about yourself.
I live in Orange County California. My back ground is in mental health, counseling, treatment of addictions. I have been in the filed for over 25 years. I enjoy writing, it is a great way to get creative.
What inspired you to write this book?
As started helping many people who had been in painful relationships, I decided that the knowledge and insight I gained could be shared with many others. So my book was the outcome of that decision.
How did you choose the title?
I wanted the book title to reflect the kind of relationships I have been dealing with. The word “chaos” was the most frequently used by everyone to describe their relationships. So I felt the title will be self-descriptive.
What obstacles did you encounter in getting this book published? How did you overcome them?
I decided to take the self-publishing route after not having much luck with literary agents.
How did you know you wanted to be a writer? How did you get started?
Writing comes naturally to me, I don’t think about writing I simply put things on a paper as I tap in to my creative self. I believe most everyone has the same ability. I believe everyone should at least write one book. It will be a learning experience.
Do you have any writing rituals?
I don’t have any rituals but when I am in nature that’s when I am most in touch with myself. So I try to put myself into that kind of an environment as often as I can.
Did you learn anything from writing and publishing this book? What?
One thing I learned about publishing my book that it takes alots of work to get the word out. Marketing is the hardest part. I definitely need to learn more about this and work with a pro at the same time. Because, it does not matter how good the book is if people never heard of it.
What types of books do you like to read? Who are your favorite authors? Why?
I like to read books that will challenge my knowledge, ground breaking and may be somewhat controversial. I like authors such as Dr. Chopra, Dr. Dyer who brings something new and challenging as well as raising ones awareness.
Are you working on your next book? What can you tell us about it?
The title of my next book is “secrets to Emotional Wealth”. it will be published at the end of April. This book in many ways explains why current therapy fail people. Why people suffer emotionally and yet they can’t seem to stop it! How a person can master their emotions so that they can be their own master.
What is the best advice you could give other writers about writing or publishing?
Writing is a wonderful way to self-discovery.
Who is the perfect reader for your book?
Anyone who is thinking about getting into a relationship or those who had failing relationships should read my book.
