I am a stay at home mom to two young daughters, and have been married now for just over 6 years. I am a highly creative person who loves to write, design jewelry and bake. I’ve loved writing since I was in elementary school. Anytime there was a writing assignment in school, I would be the first person to hand it in. I am also an avid animal lover who has three cats currently.
What is your most recent book? Can you tell us about it?
Twist of Fate is a Paranormal Romance that introduces readers to Alex Brightmore, a 102 year old vampire who pledged himself to a life of solitude after the disappearance of his bride to be from his mortal life. But his life is turned on its head when he meets researcher Jade Stevens. When Alex discovers her link to his past, the question becomes does he love Jade for herself; or does he love her for the redemption she signifies?
Who would be the perfect reader for your book?
The perfect reader for Twist of Fate would be someone that enjoys a romance novel with a bit of realism as well as a great plot twist. Also the best reader would be someone that doesn’t think that every new vampire romance novel is another ‘Twilight’.
Do you have any rituals that you follow when you’re writing?
When I was writing Twist of Fate, the only major rituals that I had were that I absolutely had to have a Venti Caramel Macchiato as well as a banana choclate chip loaf from Starbucks and I specifically put together a playlist of songs that helped inspire my writing. To be honest if I didn’t have these little things, I truly found it harder to keep my mind on writing, let alone start writing in general.
What would be the best writing advice you could give other writers?
I guess the best advice that I could give any other writer would be to just open your mind. Open your mind and let your surroundings influence and inspire your writing. If you’re having trouble staying inspired, go for a walk or even just stand outside and take a look around you. The smallest thing that you see can be the biggest inspiration to your writing!
Are you working on your next book? What can you tell us about it?
I am in the beginning stages of the sequel to Twist of Fate. All I can say about the plot right now is that this book takes place about 6-7 months after the ending events of Twist of Fate. Jade meets and has to contend with developing feelings for Alex’s sire. But a threat long since vanished starts their return and endangers everyone.
