Kathy Thompson – The Fall (Future Worlds)

September 25, 2012 by Cathy B Stucker

Please introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Kathy Thompson, a converted Texan, from Wisconsin. I have a military background and after I got out, I went back and got my B.S. in Business Communications. To get into the Air Force I had to lose weight, which spurred my deep interest in Health and fitness. I started writing & speaking around the country about Health & personal communications.

Single, I enjoy my life and love the outdoors, swimming, walking, movies, music, and reading faces.

I am a creator! I love to design and create speeches, stories, articles, reports, websites, homes, cities, worlds!

I’ve always been pre-occupied with the future, and write about it. And I discovered I am actually channeling the future when I’m writing. Some of the events in my stories have come true!

What is your most recent book? Tell us a bit about it.

Future Worlds is a series of stories about possible futures for our world;2015, 2195, 2200, 2023, 2198.“The Fall” is the first of the series.

With her life a disaster, Meg doesn’t mind if she dies. Instead, the plane crash thrusts her into the future. The Smars control the Dumots in 2195. Meg doesn’t belong to either, and has to choose between two men Scott and Doug, who love her. The Dumots live in primitive community farms. They are dark featured, emotional and passionate people. The Smars are the blue-eyed blonds; the intellects emotionless people. And Meg has blue eyes and dark brown hair.

Two more episodes include; #2 “Out of Love,” #3 – “13”

Tell us something about yourself.

(giggle)I was born with a pencil in my hand. I can’t remember not writing stories. There was a problem! With my Father (traveling salesman) gone a lot, my Mother was a very dominant force in my life, and she didn’t know what she was doing to me. All she did was discourage my writing. “Don’t get Your Hopes Up”, “Nothing will ever come of it,” “Don’t expect anything from it.” That’s all I ever heard from her. So I hid my writing.

And for a long time I was so depressed and lost. None of the jobs I had were fulfilling. Then I realized who I am, and now love to write. Now I’m sharing my stories with the world. My stories are my legacy!

First I write in shorthand, record it, then type it; narrative, screenplays, stage plays.

Knowing the publishing world today, I decided to self-publish using Amazon.

What is the best advice you could give other writers about writing or publishing?

If it comes natural, don’t fight it!Do it, and don’t stop.

Are you working on a book now and if so tell us a little bit about it?

“The Journey” is another trilogy with 3 episodes about leaving Earth and journeying through space to an paradise planet to live in. It follows the adventures of several people looking for a better world. Would you accept a chance to go?

Where can readers learn more about you and your book?
