How to Attract Money Using Mind Power. It’s a metaphysical manual. It’s very well researched and one indication of that is that I quote 160 other books. The book can be read through in one or two sittings which makes the information much more accessible than is often the case with longer books. I do believe my book is the most concise and usable book of its kind.
Give us a little background on yourself.
I grew up in New Jersey. I’ve been living in San Diego for the past 30+ years minus about five years on and off living in other states. My background in metaphysics goes back around 30 years as well, as it was shortly after coming to California that I found my first self-help type book. I’ve been reading such books ever since. I love to learn and I love to teach. I expect I’ll always be doing both in one way or another.
What prompted you to write this particular book?
Over the years that I’d been teaching metaphysics, I noticed that even long-time students of metaphysics often have a hard time attracting the money they want and need. This is often true even of people who successfully use metaphysical techniques to attract all kinds of other good things into their lives. I wanted to make this subject of attracting money so easy to understand, and to make the techniques and practices so easy to apply, that anyone could do it. I want people to live in abundance, not in lack. That’s why I wrote this book.
How did you come up with the title?
For years the title—How to Attract Money Using Mind Power—was actually the subtitle. Well, I later found out that the title I had in mind had already been used. My first thought was, I need a new title. My second thought was, With a subtitle like this, who needs a title? And that was it. The subtitle became the title and the rest is history.
Do you have any writing rituals?
I have a bunch of them. I’ll pick one: At certain times in the writing process, especially in the latter stages, I’ll read and reread the writing out loud. I rewrite and edit until my ears like the piece as much as my eyes do. I encourage other writers to try this. I believe there is not a writer alive whose writing cannot be improved by this practice.
Did you learn anything from writing this book?
Yes, I learned a lot of things. One of the big things I learned is that books don’t write themselves.
What type of books do you like to read?
I mostly read nonfiction self-help books. I read books on metaphysics, mind power, spirituality, success and achievement—subjects along those lines. That’s a much wider area of study than it might seem to some. I never get tired of this type of subject matter.
What’s one important bit of advice you can give to other writers?
If you are not one hundred percent certain about the meaning of a word, look it up. If you’re using the wrong word, find the right one. The habit of doing this can improve your writing immeasurably.
Who is the perfect reader for your book?
A person who needs and/or wants more money and who is also open to the subjects of metaphysics and mind power.
