Pearl Harbour – Author Interview

What is your most recent book? Tell us a bit about it.

It is called, Don Juan’s True Love

Living, in the lap of luxury throughout her life with her parents, studying at the university, having a carefree life at twenty two, was PAT (an Indian). She fell madly in love with an engineer who came to work under her father, in exotic Africa.

JUAN (a Spanish), a handsome, strong, sexy, well built man of thirty who seduced and blind folded the innocent Pat, was the man of her dreams. Believing him to be a God of some kind, she worshipped the ground he walked on. Blind Pat fall desperately, totally in love with her God and spend her entire life paying for her folly!

Women were like vultures who desired Juan’s stallion body. Add fuel to fire, her own sister, BELA, was in the league.

Juan left Pat pregnant in her own parent’s home, while he was married with three children in another part of the world! Juan’s confession of his affair with Pat’s sister, after extracting a promise from her never to abandon him, was painful. Juan continued on and off to be amused by other women! Pat’s understanding, consideration, love and passion for her man and children kept them together though every obstacles.

Pat was expected to be good, pure, innocent, whiles Juan was everything opposite. However they made the best pair, admired by all friends, family as well as the neighbours for happiness which was present in her. Pat was the only one with the deep, dark secret of their relationship. She was alone in this anguish and afraid to reveal the truth to her parents who suffered by losing their favourite daughter to a European, but their other daughter was also involved with the same man! The grief and distress was not colossal due to the advice she was given. Life is just a collection of memories, each morning having a clean slate to make a new experience!

Juan’s confessed his entire downfall and every success to his lovely wife, Pat, who stood by him because she knew his weakness, was actually an illness. He adored her like no other woman in this world he admitted, loving her more than ever before.

“I never knew love could be so precious till you came along. I was afraid of you. You are the only person who could hurt me, so I stayed away from you. You are good, I am so bad. I wanted the best. I got the best, but did not know how to handle the best. It was my mistake. Forgive me, please.” Juan speaks these final words to Pat, before his death.

Love is not a possession you can wish for. It will kill you from all sides. No one can live without it. No one should live with it either. It will still destroy you completely.

Love is for dreamers.

Tell us something about yourself.

I have been writing for many years. I was raised in a loving home, where I learned the value of good education , respect and discipline, which I have passed on to my three adorable children.

I grew up in Sri Lanka and Nigeria, and then went on to live in Sierra Leone and France. Now I make my home in Spain.

What inspired you to write this book?

The loneliness and sadness fuelled by the loss of my husband gave me the strength and motivation to write this book .

How did you publish this book? Why did you decide on that publisher?

I went through a literary Agency who introduced me to strategic publishing

How did you know you wanted to be a writer? How did you get started?

When my husband confessed his love to me before he passed away made me realise how special I had been to him. With all my bottled up sadness throughout my life prompted me to put all down in a book so I could help other women who are in my situation. I have been a life coach for a long time, so that helped me to get on with my life.

What do you believe is the hardest part of writing?

Hardest part of writing is wanting to write about your life experience which can facilitate others in similar situation to overcome the similar situation they find themselves in.

Did you learn anything from writing this book? What?

The grief and distress in my life was not colossal due to the advice I was given, which is an eye opener to anyone who wants a harmonious life.

I stood by my husband because I knew his weakness, was actually an illness. He adored me like no other woman in this world, which he admitted, loving mr more than ever before. “I never knew love could be so precious till you came along. I was afraid of you. You are the only person who could hurt me, so I stayed away from you. You are good, I am so bad. I wanted the best. I got the best, but did not know how to handle the best. It was my mistake. Forgive me, please,” some of my husband’s final words to me, before his death.

Love is not a possession you can wish for. It will kill you from all sides. No one can live without it. No one should live with it either. It will still destroy you completely.

Love is for dreamers.

What are you reading now?

I am reading some spiritual text at the moment to enlighten my soul. This I tend to do at least once a year.

What types of books do you like to read?

I read different types of books at different times of the year as well as the age group. Romance, science books, mythology and books for children as I am teaching English for Spanish children in three different age groups.

Are you working on your next book? What can you tell us about it?

My next book is called “Does God Make Mistakes?” which is complete, but I am cutting and polishing to shine even more.

It is based on a dialog between Sara and I. Sara has had an extrasensory ability since childhood, which I never knew, till she says, “My husband is telling me things…” after her husband dies. Sara speaks of her father and others who spoke to her long before that. She knew who her children were in their former life! She has seen how the dead leave this earth, also been showed the place where the dead “live” after they die! Possessing a living person by the dead is a fact, not fiction for she lived through that experience to speak about it. After all these strange recounts by Sara left me with the impression that she must be an angel, if not she must be a mistake by The Creator Himself to survive all these un-natural activities in her life. She remembers her past, present and the future along with vision of God Himself! Those made me ask the vital question, do angels have wings? If not do they have a sign of some sort? Very obvious to her and to me now they do! What it is, is up to you to find out. Angels are all around us, like the dead, but we cannot see them. What a pity.

What is the best advice you could give other writers about writing or publishing?

If anyone has a story which needs to be told, then write a book about it. It shall make you happy. Publishing is harder than I think!

What are you doing to promote your latest book?

I am doing a few radio interview for now.
